“I`m European” contest awarding ceremonies were held for the winner in all partner towns

Municipality of Aksakovo

On the 3–rd December 2021 during the meeting “Cooperation with youth”, financed by Europe for citizens programme Reneta Pavlova in category “Drawing” and Mihail Georgiev in category “Writting”were awarded by Mayor of Aksakovo municipality Atanas Stoilov. The winners received drawing tablets.

Municipality Vila Nova De Cerveira, Portugal 

Four students from the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira were received at the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho on December 28, by the Mayor of Vila Nova de Cerveira, Rui Teixeira, to receive the award for winners of “I am European” contest, as part of the project - EFOF – European Future is Our Future (Europe for Citizens).

A contest that had the participation of dozens of children and young people from the project's partner countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia, as well as Portugal (Vila Nova de Cerveira).

The student of ETAP – Professional School of  Cerveira, Letícia Fernandes, who was distinguished in this international competition with the 1st prize in the photography category, on October 12, 2021, in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, received from the hands of the Mayor from Vila Nova de Cerveira an electric scooter. With the message “Although we are not perfect, we are always united. We are Europeans!”, the young student presented a photograph, in which five young people are painting various flags of European countries, emphasizing the flag of the European Union.

The children Eva Pereira and Enzo Soares, from ATL de Lovelhe, and Daniel Álvarez, from ATL de Centro Social e Paroquial de Campos, who are serials nationwide in ​​drawing, received an Arts kit from the municipality. In total, representing the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, 28 works by children and young people were submitted to the competition, in different categories – Writing, Drawing, Photography and Video Clip – and age groups.

During the award ceremony, the Mayor of Vila Nova de Cerveira, Rui Teixeira, highlighted the importance of the participation of children and young people in this international competition as a way of promoting inclusion and European citizenship, improving understanding of the benefits of European Union and to encourage intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and reflection on the future of Europe. This participation the mayor considers fundamental in all areas, because “the active participation of the youngest, their interest and involvement are of great importance for the future of Vila Nova de Cerveira. That's why I count on them to build the future. And they can count on me on that path.”

The mayor congratulated the young people awarded, as well as all children, young people and institutions for their participation and involvement in favour of the principles of inclusion and European citizenship.

The “EFOF – European Future Is Our Future” project is the result of a consortium of partners, namely Vila Nova de Cerveira (Portugal), the Municipality of Dalgopol (Bulgaria) - as coordinator -, the Municipality of Aksakovo (Bulgaria), the Municipality of Osilo (Italy), the Municipality of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and an organization of the Civil Society Bio Network (Bulgaria), within the scope of the program “Europe for Citizens – Network of Cities”.

Municipality Dalgopol, Bulgaria

In the competition on the topic "I am a European", in the category of drawing, which was the most contested and with the most participants, the winner is Pamela Trendafilova Dimitrova from Dulgopol, who is an 8th grade student at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" - gr.- Dalgopol.

The winner was awarded a tablet. The award was presented at a meeting of the Dulgopol Municipal Council by the mayor of the municipality Georgi Georgiev.

Municipality Nova Gorica, Slovenia

The awarding ceremony for the young contestants in Nova Gorica was held on 16th March 2022 in the Municipality of Nova Gorica. 8 young contestants and the representatives of schools which helped with the implementation of the contest were welcomed by the Deputy mayor. After a short introduction, each contestant presented the idea behind their artistic works. The formal part concluded with a prize-giving. Two international winners received a drawing pad, while other contestants received a colouring book, some wrtiting and drawing materials and a subscription to a city bike sharing system.

Municipality Osilo , Italy

The award ceremony in Osilo has been held on the 17th of March at 18:00 in the Municipality palace. The conciliar of Osilo responsible for youth in the Osilo city council gave prizes of winners in writing and photo categories.
